Valerian Root has been an herbal favorite for many cultures for centuries.

Valerian is most commonly used for sleep disorders, especially insomnia. It is often combined with hops, lemon balm or other drowsy herbs. Some people who try to stop taking sleeping pills use valerian to help them sleep after reducing the dose of sleeping pills.

There is some scientific evidence that valerian works in sleep disorders, although not all studies are positive.
Valerian is also used for conditions associated with anxiety and psychological stress, including nervous asthma, hysterical conditions, agitation, fear of the disease (hypochondria), headache, migraine, and stomach irritation.
