Description

A natural sweetener of plant origin, very similar in taste and sweetness to sugar. Xylitol, also called birch sugar, is found in many plants and fruits. The human body also produces it in small quantities.

Xylitol has a low glycemic index (GI = 7) - so it can be used by diabetics without causing spikes in blood sugar levels.
