Description

Xylitol is a sugar of natural origin, usually extracted from birch trees. It is also found in fruits and vegetables, berries, mushrooms, corn cobs and hardwoods. Acquired by scientists at the end of the 19th century, but only began to enjoy great popularity after 1940. Studies conducted at the time showed that it is virtually insulin-independent, meaning that it is metabolized in the body, with little involvement of insulin.

What you can use xylitol for? For any dish for which sugar is traditionally required. Enjoy sweet cakes, cookies, cupcakes, jams, doughnuts, sweet salads and preserves without interruption. It can also be found in toothpastes (including homemade recipes), as well as in chewing gums.

The richness of this natural product is at your fingertips. When considering whether to choose erythrol or xylitol, stevia or agave, it is worthwhile to reach for xylitol as a substitute for all sugar, which provides an excellent and pleasant variety to the diet.
