Description

Vitamin K1 (or phylloquinone) plays a crucial role in the blood coagulation system. Solid “patches”, blood clots that stop bleeding, are formed in the places of damage to the vessels due to it. In case of vitamin deficiency, the protective mechanism fails and the amount of blood loss increases manifold. How does Vitamin K1 works?

One of the major factors of blood coagulation is synthesized from vitamin K1 in the liver. It’s called prothrombin.
