What is AAKG?
Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (AAKG) is a salt of the amino acid arginine and alpha-ketoglutaric acid. This combination improves the absorption of arginine by the organism. Arginine is necessary for the synthesis of a number of proteins.
The functions that the amino acid arginine performs in the metabolic process are important for athletes and people leading an active lifestyle. In particular, arginine is a source of nitric oxide, which is a substance that regulates the tone of the cardiovascular system. Nitric oxide relaxes the walls of blood vessels and helps to increase their lumen. As a result, it improves blood flow and the supply of tissues (primarily muscle tissues) with oxygen and nutrients, as well as it speeds up excretion of waste. In addition to this, there is a risk of high blood pressure when the organism is deficient in arginine.
Indications for use:
- It lowers blood pressure
- It improves erectile function
- It enhances the secretion of growth hormone
- It regulates blood circulation and oxygen metabolism
- It speeds up the recovery after training
- It helps to reduce excess weight and gain muscle mass
