    Damiana

    Damiana, or Turnera diffusa, is a shrub that grows up to 60 cm high from the genus Turner of the Turner family, common in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. The plant belongs to aphrodisiacs. Mexican Indians used damiana as an aphrodisiac and a remedy for bronchial asthma.

    The leaves of damiana contain essential oils that consist of cineole, cymene, pinene, damianin bitterness, resins, tannin, and hydrocyanic acid glycoside.
