Description

Chitosan is a polysaccharide (a type of insoluble fiber), a derivative of chitin, which is obtained from the shells of shrimp, lobsters and crabs and sometimes from algae. Chitin does not contain calories. Chitosan is often considered a fat-burning product because it is believed that this substance is able to block the absorption of fats and thereby helps to get rid of excess fat deposits.

Chitosan binds fat molecules in the GI tract, reducing their absorption and promoting their excretion from the body.
