Bioactive form of selenium - L-selenomethionine is one of the most easily absorbed forms.

Selenium was discovered in 1817 by the Swedish chemist Jöns Jacob Berzelius. However, selenium was recognized as vital to humans much later.

Primary function of selenium in the body is to be involved in antioxidant systems and the metabolism of thyroid hormones.
