Drowsiness, fatigue, irritability and bad mood are typical signs of vitamin B6 (or pyridoxine) deficiency. The causes of the condition can be very different, including: an insufficiently balanced diet, as well as chronic diseases and stresses. Add vitamin B6 additive to your diet in order to quickly replace nutrient deficiency in your body and regain your well-being.
Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin, represented by 3 closely related pyridine derivatives, including: pyridoxine, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine. All 3 forms have the same vitamin activity and are able to mutually turn into each other. In the body, vitamin B6 is phosphorylated, forming an active coenzyme - pyridoxal-5-phosphate.
Vitamin B6 was discovered in 1934 by the American biochemist Sient-Dierdi. While performing trials on on mice, the scientist discovered that this substance helped heal skin diseases. And only in 1945 other properties of pyridoxine were studied.
Vitamin B6 is found in many products. Especially a lot of it is present in the liver, chicken yolks, tuna, pork, bananas, avocado, beans and cabbage.
The main function of vitamin B6 in the human body is to participate in the synthesis of hormones serotonin and norepinephrine, responsible for the formation of positive emotions. Therefore, it is especially recommended in cases of stress and bad mood. In addition, pyridoxine regulates the metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates and stimulates the formation of energy reserves, contributing to the increase of mental and physical activity. Vitamin B6 alleviates the condition of women suffering from premenstrual syndrome as well, due to the ability to influence the endocrine profile. Finally, pyridoxine taking has a beneficial effect on the state of the nervous, immune and cardiovascular systems.
