What iron is needed for the human body

Daily iron demand is determined by a set of individual parameters. It depends on the age and sex of the person, some features of physiological development, the state of individual organs and systems, physical activity and other external factors.

For example, women need almost twice as much iron as men (20 and 10 mg per day, respectively). During lactation needs increase by 20-25%. The deficiency of this substance often affects children, because their growth is accompanied by an increased consumption of iron. Harmonious and rapid development of muscles is also impossible without sufficient concentration of this chemical element in the blood.

It, for example, performs certain protective functions, preventing the harmful effects of by-products formed during oxidation. Iron is used in the synthesis of leukocytes, which are the basis of the immune system.

Why do iron deficiencies occur and what are the signs?

Diets with a relatively small amount of meat and fresh vegetables, diseases, bleeding, hypovitaminosis, and the use of some non-steroidal drugs are the main causes of iron deficiency in the human body. Externally, the deficit can be manifested as follows:

increased fatigue, shortness of breath and increased heart rate at low physical activity
hair loss, excessive skin pallor, deterioration of its condition, insufficient strength of nails
reduced immunity, frequent colds

Prevention and treatment

The recommended use of the supplement is 20ml twice a day for one month. If necessary, the dosage and duration of the course can increased, or the month can be repeated.
