What is the PQQ – disodium salt of pyrroloquinoline quinone – and when should it be taken?

The disodium salt of pyrroloquinolinquinone is a reddish-brown powder produced by a non-genetically modified bacterium Hyphomicrobium denitrificans strain CK-275. It is also naturally found in soil, food, and breast milk. PQQ is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals. It also serves as a contributing factor, catalyzing certain chemical reactions, to the action of many enzymes in our body. It is also known that it supports the work of mitochondria, where energy is produced to power all the cells of our body.

PQQ supplements are often used for energy, memory, improving attention and overall brain health.
