A dietary supplement in the form of a soft capsule containing C8 - caprylic acid obtained from coconut (Cocos nucifera). Caprylic acid is a medium chain fatty acid. Caprylic acid, also known as octanoic acid, is a medium chain fatty acid (MCT). The body does not need bile and lipase to digest caprylic acid, so the acid is an easy source of energy for the body. Adding caprylic acid will help ensure adequate levels of ketone bodies. Caprylic acid can help the body obtain energy from fat. This effect is most noticeable when the acid is taken after an overnight fast and before a meal. Caprylic acid may also have antibacterial and antifungal potential.
