Methyl - B12 by Now is a nutritional supplement of vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin. It is the only natural product that contains cobalt, and to which it owes its vivid red color. It is found in foods of animal origin, such as meat.

Vitamin B12 deficiency leads to megaloblastic anemia due to either a lack of B12, a lack of folic acid, or poor absorption of B12 from the stomach due to a lack or destruction of the endogenous B12 absorption factor. Deficiency is commonly seen in people who fast for long periods or follow vegetarian diets.

Vitamin B12 has many biochemical actions. It participates in nerve regeneration and function , in the creation of bone marrow, in hematopoiesis , as well as in the synthesis of genetic information (DNA). Vitamin B12 plays a role in the process of cell division and contributes to the normal functioning of metabolic processes aimed at the production of energy as well as the functioning of the nervous system. It also helps in the normal metabolism of homocysteine , in the normal psychological function, in the normal formation of red blood cells and the proper functioning of the immune system. It also helps reduce tiredness and fatigue.
