Lecithin contains compounds responsible for maintaining the health of cell membranes. In case of its deficiency, the cell wall can harden and restrict the intake of nutrients and outflow of waste products in the outside, which contributes to premature aging of cells. The constituent components of lecithin also participate in the work of other important cellular functions. The substance itself is a mixture of phospholipids consisting of fatty acids, glycerol, phosphorus and choline or inositol. Technically, it is a part of all the cellular membranes of our body. Although lecithin is a lipid, it is still able to partially dissolve in water and thus can act as an emulsifier. Therefore, many processed products contain this substance.

It’s important to use lecithin in your diet. It is especially useful for the elderly.
