Lactobacilli acidophilus are gram-positive anaerobic non-sporogenic bacteria, which are also called lactobacilli acidophilus or Bacillus acidophilus. According to the pharmacological index, these bacteria are "a means of normalizing the intestinal microflora." Lactobacilli acidophilus are often called kefir fungi. Their usual habitat is the microflora in the colon, vagina and mouth. In the stomach and small intestine, these bacteria are absent, so they should be taken as biological additives.

Lactobacillus acidophilus are antagonists in respect to the spectrum of opportunistic bacteria (Staphylococcus, enteropathogenic E. coli) and restore the normal microflora of the intestine.

Acidophilus in lactobacilli protects the body from dangerous bacteria, parasites and fungi.

Acidophilic lactobacilli in tablets support digestion, stimulate the production of enzymes, increase immunity, and fight many diseases of the intestinal tract such as diarrhea and urogenital infections.

Since the price of acidophilic lactobacilli is affordable, they are often recommended to take as a preventive measure to improve digestion. It is often recommended to take with dairy products.
