What is glucomannan?

Glucomannan is recommended for weight loss and normalization of digestion processes. It is a naturally occurring water-soluble dietary fiber derived from konjac gum, which is a plant polysaccharide. It is popular as a bioactive supplement primarily due to the fact that, when taken regularly before meals, it promotes weight loss. Glucomannan has the ability to absorb large amounts of liquid and multiply in volume. Hence its absorbing property: it blocks toxins and toxic substances, preventing them from entering the bloodstream, and efficiently evacuates them from the organism.

By reducing the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine, glucomannan lowers the level of "bad" cholesterol, in addition to all its other effects. It also lowers blood glucose levels, which is particularly crucial for people who suffer from type II diabetes.
